If you missed yesterdays post Good landing pages = More Sales please check it out first….Yesterday I was explaining how a well designed landing page has the potential to massively increase conversions, whether that conversion is a sign-up or maybe a sale.
I hope that info was useful? Let me know in the comments if you have any questions, I’m always happy to help.
So today I wanted to cover 5 points that for me personally have been essential in my businesses for increasing landing page conversions. Yesterday I implemented all of them in that Valentines Day landing page.
1> A powerful headline

This needs to be good. It’s the first thing someone reads and needs to tell them why they should be seriously considering your offer.
Now for my example I must confess I did not spend a long time thinking of the ultimate headline (You may have guessed?) But it does plant a seed in the potential buyers mind that should’nt they be treating their partner to something special? Surely they deserve it?
2> Sell it to them

Sell your offer with some simple bulleted features – make these your best selling points. I went for Quality, Speed (i.e. delivered by 3PM) and Price.
3> Use an image they can relate to

The image or images you use are crucial. Try and use an image which sparks an emotion, something where a potential buyer can relate to that image. The image I chose here subconciously plays out the scneario of the buyers partner receiving the flowers, her happiness etc etc
4> Add some scarcity/urgency

With any offer it’s always good to have a strong reason why someone should take that offer now, rather than later because as we always say: later = never. You might restrict the amount of products available i.e. “Only 50 available – dont miss out” or “This offer is restricted to the first 20 customers“. If you do this though make sure it’s a legitimate statement, if clients find out it’s a bogus offer then you may lose their respect longer term and their custom. So, mine was very basic, it didn’t actually say when the offer ended, it just said it was today’s offer that had a limited time period – that limited time period is my choice
5> Guide the user to your Goal

If you haven’t experimented with arrows you should try it. They can be extremely effective in guiding people to what you want them to do. Here the user will read the headline and be drawn down to the “Arrange Delivery” button simply because of their instinct to follow the arrow. There are a ton of ways you can use arrows like this, try some different designs and get testing!

Thank you, very helpful. I have bookmarked your website, and will put your advice into action within the next few weeks.
